Eng. Michael Samuel Mwase is a seasoned Civil Engineer and Water Infrastructure Specialist with over 26 years of practical experience shaping resilient infrastructure systems across Uganda and internationally. He is an ardent and long-standing member of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE), reflecting his commitment to professional excellence, ethical practice, and continuous development in the engineering field. As the Director of Blue Peak Water and Urban Solutions, he provides grounded, hands-on leadership informed by years of fieldwork, technical design, and project delivery in both urban and rural environments.
His career reflects a consistent commitment to solving real-world challenges in water access, stormwater management, and sustainable urban development. He is currently a PhD Fellow in Storm Water Management and Built Environment Engineering at Makerere University, building on a strong academic foundation that includes a Master's Degree in Urban Planning and Design and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Eng. Mwase has extensive experience working with a wide range of government institutions, municipalities, development partners, and private sector clients, contributing to policy-aligned infrastructure development and national growth. In addition, he brings over 14 years of specialised experience in oil and gas monitoring, where he has been involved in environmental compliance, infrastructure oversight, and resource management within complex and highly regulated operational environments.
Engineer Benon Kibuuka brings over twelve years of extensive professional experience in electrical engineering, solar energy systems, and construction project implementation to BluePeak Water & Urban Solutions.
He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Ndejje University, which has equipped him with strong technical knowledge and practical engineering competence.
Throughout his career, he has successfully participated in and supervised a wide range of electrical and infrastructure projects, including solar power installations, electrical system design, and construction works from project inception through to completion and commissioning. His technical expertise enables him to integrate electrical systems seamlessly within water infrastructure and urban development projects.
Engineer Benon has also gained valuable international exposure, having delivered expert engineering services in Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and India. These experiences have strengthened his ability to work in diverse operational environments and adapt engineering solutions to different regulatory, technical, and geographical contexts.
He is recognised for his strong leadership and project management skills, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, mentoring young engineers and technicians, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Engineer Doreen Atwijukire is a dynamic engineering professional recognized for her strong commitment to customer service, public relations, and sustainable infrastructure development. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from Kyambogo University, a multidisciplinary academic foundation that enables her to bridge technical engineering solutions with effective client engagement and communication systems.
Her expertise is particularly distinguished in irrigation engineering, where she has contributed to the design and management of efficient water supply and irrigation systems tailored to meet community and client needs. She also has extensive experience working with swimming pools, water pumps, solar systems, and generators, integrating reliable and energy-efficient solutions into water and infrastructure projects. Known for being hands-on and detail-oriented, she ensures high standards of quality, functionality, and customer satisfaction in every project she undertakes.
Engineer Doreen has gained valuable international experience working with multinational companies, including Davis & Shirtliff, and has successfully delivered projects across Rwanda, Kenya, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This regional exposure has strengthened her ability to operate in diverse environments, manage cross-border client relationships, and adapt engineering solutions to different market needs.
Her advanced project management training from Uganda Management Institute (UMI) has significantly enhanced her ability to manage client relationships, respond to customer queries, and deliver solutions to complex engineering challenges. In her role as Manager, Marketing & Operations, she plays a pivotal role in coordinating projects, strengthening client relationships, and enhancing the organisation's public image.
Eng. Joan Nyamwiza is a distinguished Hydrogeologist and Head of Survey at BluePeak Water and Urban Solutions, widely respected for her technical excellence and strong public relations management skills. She has a proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with government institutions, donors, humanitarian agencies, and local communities, ensuring that engineering solutions are both technically sound and socially responsive. Her experience spans Uganda, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the United States, reflecting a global perspective in water systems development and stakeholder engagement. Through effective communication, negotiation, and partnership coordination, she has consistently enhanced project acceptance, mobilized resources, and strengthened the long-term sustainability of water infrastructure initiatives.
Her academic background and professional qualifications demonstrate a solid foundation in both engineering and leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geosciences and Production from Makerere University, where she specialised in geological mapping and hydrocarbon characterisation. She further advanced her expertise by earning a Master's degree in Project Management through an Executive MBA programme, equipping her with high-level skills in strategic planning, financial management, and organisational leadership. In addition, she has attained certifications in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment for Engineers, Capacity Works management, and water network design using EPANET and AutoCAD. Her technical proficiency also includes the use of ArcGIS and QGIS, alongside strong competencies in project planning, budgeting, reporting, and knowledge management across complex, multidisciplinary projects.
A defining strength of Eng. Nyamwiza's work is her commitment to safety and operational excellence. She integrates occupational safety principles into every stage of project implementation, from design to construction and system operation. Her training in safety, health, and environmental management enables her to conduct thorough risk assessments, implement hazard mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with both local and international standards. She also embeds safety awareness into the training programmes she develops for technicians and utility staff, strengthening institutional capacity and promoting a culture of safety in engineering practice.
